useR! 2014 Conference Videos and Release Plan

Many of us here in the DataScience.LA Team were also involved in organizing the useR! 2014 conference, the annual get-together of the wonderful R community, which brought over 700 R users and developers from all over the world to Los Angeles this past July.

Thanks to the volunteer efforts of some of our Team members (see below), we will be able to publish some of these useR session recordings over the next couple of weeks. DataScience.LA also had the opportunity to conduct a series of interviews with prominent members of the R community during useR, and we’ll be publishing those videos as well.

The first two videos are live, John Chambers’ keynote talk and the interview we conducted with Hadley Wickham.

We are planning a weekly release for the rest of the videos we have (interviews on Mondays, sessions on Thursdays). We recommend you follow us on Twitter @wwwDSLA in order to get updates on each new release.

Volunteers for the video project:
Jeff Weakley, videography
Timothy Phan, videography
Eduardo Arino de la Rubia, interviewer

All materials were filmed as part of useR! 2014 at UCLA, supervised by David L McArthur PhD MPH within the guidelines of UCLA Policy 863 Section D.
